2026/27 Animation Residency 

The 2026/27 Animation Residency is officially open for applications. This unique programme offers animators the chance to develop their own short films/TV series with free accommodation, studio space, mentoring and a creative, supportive environment. Building on a track record that includes IFTA-winning projects, the residency invites established animators to apply and be part of a vibrant community. Spend 6 months in beautiful Birr on your passion project - free from the burdens of rent, studio space or living expenses. Click below to begin your submission. The deadline for submissions is August 17th. The residency commences October 1st 2026 and runs for 6 months. Interviews for shortlisted applicants is August 26th in Tullamore.

Animation Residency Ireland is administered by Birr 2020 Vision CLG and is funded by the JVM Trench Will Trust,  Offaly County Council, the National Talent Academy for Animation and Offaly Local Enterprise Office.
